Osa Peninsula Real Estate – The Osa Peninsula is in the very south pacific part of Costa Rica. It is one of the most remote parts of Costa Rica with a rich history.
The long stretches of serene beaches are set against the beautiful Gulfo Dulce. Several of the species found here are unique to the country. Corcovado is home to over four hundred species of birds alone. With many forms of exotic mammals, reptiles, insects, monkeys, amphibians, whales, and dolphins. National Geographic declared the Osa Peninsula as one of the most ecologically diverse areas on the planet! Located between Golfo Dulce, and Corcovado parkland is the small town of Puerto Jimenez. Puerto Jimenez is the biggest pueblo on the Osa. South of Puerto Jimenez, a large expat community is established with several properties and homes available for purchase. This can be an ideal place to possess a vacation or primary residence due to the proximity of Jungle in relation to the beach.
Life on the Osa is very laid back. You can see multitudes of wildlife just by stepping outside and taking a walk. The beaches are serene and uncrowded. Surf, kayaking, swimming, fishing, and boating are among the many water activities you can do while there. Hiking to the waterfalls and through the Jungle, and taking a horseback ride are also among the fun things to do. You will not find a lot of nightlife. There is a quaint bar restaurant named Buenas Esperanza in the Matapalo area that hosts a famous Friday night market with a DJ and occasional live music.
